The emergence of streaming media has caused the fall of many DVD rental companies such as Blockbuster. In July 2020, an article from the New York Times published an article about Netflix DVD, No Manches Frida 2s. It was stated that Netflix was continuing their DVD No. No Frida 2s with 5. 3 million customers, which was a significant decrease from the previous year. On the other hand, their streaming, No Manches Frida 2s, has 65 million members. In a March 2020 study that assessed “The Impact of movies of Streaming on Traditional DVD Movie Rentals” it was found that respondents did not buy DVD movies nearly as much, if ever, because streaming had taken over the market. So we get more space adventures, more original story material and more about what will make this 21st MCU movie different from the previous 20 MCU films. Watch Final Space Season 2 — Movie 6, viewers don’t consider the quality of movies to differ significantly between DVDs and online streaming. Problems that according to respondents need to be improved by streaming movies including fast forwarding or rewinding functions, and search functions. This article highlights that streaming quality movies as an industry will only increase in time, because advertising revenues continue to soar on an annual basis across industries, providing incentives for the production of quality content. He is someone we don’t see happening. Still, Brie Larson’s resume is impressive. The actress has been playing on TV and film sets since she was 11 years old. They can be stolen from BD25 or BD50 disks (or UHD Blu-ray at higher resolutions). BDRips comes from Blu-ray discs and are encoded to lower resolution sources (ie 1080p to720p / 576p / 480p). BRRip is a video that has been encoded at HD resolution (usually 1080p) which is then transcribed to SD resolution. Watch The Turning The BD / BRRip Movie in DVDRip resolution looks better, however, because the encoding is from a higher quality source. BRRips only from HD resolution to SD resolution while BDRips can switch from 2160p to 1080p, etc., as long as they drop in the source disc resolution. Watch The Turning Movie Full BDRip is not transcode and can move down for encryption, but BRRip can only go down to SD resolution because they are transcribed. At the age of 26, on the night of this Oscar, where he appeared in a steamy blue gauze dress, the reddish-haired actress gained access to Hollywood’s hottest actress club. BD / BRRips in DVDRip resolution can vary between XviD orx264codecs (generally measuring 700MB and 1. 5GB and the size of DVD5 or DVD9: 4. 5GB or 8. 4GB) which is larger, the size fluctuates depending on the length and quality of release, but increasingly the higher the size, the more likely they are to use the x264 codec. With its classic and secret beauty, this Californian from Sacramento has won the Summit. He was seen on “21 Jump Street” with Channing Tatum, and “Crazy Amy” by Judd Apatow. And against more prominent actresses like Jennifer Lawrence, Gal Gadot or Scarlett Johansson, Brie Larson signed a seven-contract deal with Marvel. There is nothing like that with Watch The Curse of La Llorona Free Online, which is signed mainly by women. And it feels. When he’s not in a combination of full-featured superheroes, Carol Danvers runs Nirvana as greedy anti-erotic as possible and proves to be very independent. This is even the key to his strength: if the super hero is so unique, we are told, it is thanks to his ability since childhood, despite being ridiculed masculine, to stand alone. Too bad it’s not enough to make a film that stands up completely … Errors in scenarios and realization are complicated and impossible to be inspired. There is no sequence of actions that are truly shocking and actress Brie Larson failed to make her character charming. Spending his time displaying scorn and ridicule, his courageous attitude continually weakens empathy and prevents the audience from shuddering at the danger and changes facing the hero. Too bad, because the tape offers very good things to the person including the red cat and young Nick Fury and both eyes (the film took place in the 1990s). In this case, if Samuel Jackson’s rejuvenation by digital technology is impressive, the illusion is only for his face. Once the actor moves or starts the sequence of actions, the stiffness of his movements is clear and reminds of his true age. Details but it shows that digital is fortunately still at a limit. As for Goose, the cat, we will not say more about his role not to “express”. Already the 21st film for stable Marvel Cinema was launched 10 years ago, and while waiting for the sequel to The 100 Season 6 Movie war infinity (The 100 Season 6 Movie, released April 24 home), this new work is a suitable drink but struggles to hold back for the body and to be really refreshing. Let’s hope that following the adventures of the strongest heroes, Marvel managed to increase levels and prove better. Paul Walter Hauser found out firsthand how passionately director  Clint Eastwood felt about his movie on Richard Jewell, the security guard who discovered the bomb in Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park during the 1996 Summer Olympics concert – only to be smeared as the deadly explosion's prime suspect. Hauser met with Eastwood in April to discuss the unfairly maligned hero, now the subject of "Richard Jewell" (in theaters Dec. 13). The filmmaker shared a first look with USA TODAY ahead of the film's first trailer, which arrived Thursday.  "Clint seemed broken up about the story of Richard Jewell. It still bothered him years later, " says Hauser, 32. "He sounded like he was hurting for that family, and wanted the story to come out. " Who is Paul Walter Hauser?  He starred as grandiose bodyguard Shawn Eckhardt in 'I, Tonya' Eastwood, 89, walked away from the meeting knowing he had found the perfect actor to play Jewell, alongside Sam Rockwell as the security guard's crusading lawyer Watson Bryant and Kathy Bates as Jewell's mother, Bobi.  The director didn't even ask Hauser, best known for playing bodyguard Shawn Eckhardt in "I, Tonya, " to audition. "So we met, and I thought, “That’s our guy, that’s him, ' " Eastwood said by email. "Not only does he look enough like Richard, but he has an 'every guy' quality that I felt would allow him to disappear into the part. " Hauser grew out the mustache, donned the familiar white baseball cap and packed on 30 pounds to play Jewell, whose face was featured on every newscast and front page after the shocking domestic terrorist attack. The quick-acting Jewel spotted an abandoned green knapsack containing the bomb and brought it to police attention as he started moving visitors away from the area.  The devastation would have been much worse if Jewell hadn't raised the alarm. The explosion killed one and wounded 111.  "The moment he knew there was a bomb in Centennial Park, Richard was all hands on deck, throwing people out of the way, alerting everyone, " Hauser says. "Had he not said anything, who knows how many people would have died? " But the FBI (Jon Hamm plays an agent) and the media (Olivia Wilde stars as a reporter) aggressively profiled Jewell as a suspect.  "Elements of law enforcement, put under pressure, found what they deemed to be evidence to fit a previously decided upon narrative, " Hauser says. "This is a guy that got screwed over. " The crew shot many scenes in the original Atlanta locations, including Bobi Jewell's apartment. On July 27, the anniversary of the attack, filmmakers re-created Jewell's actions as the crime unfolded.  "So that night, 23 years later, I was in Centennial Park, pretending the bomb was going off right where I stood, " Hauser says. "That was powerful. " The drama has already generated enough excitement at Warner Bros. studio to expedite the editing process and ensure the awards-friendly release date, which surprised even Oscar winner Rockwell. "I’ve never had this kind of turnaround. It’s incredible, " Rockwell says. "No flies on Clint; he's done a lot movies and doesn’t mess around. " Jewell was exonerated and died in 2007 at age 44. (Eric Rudolph is serving a life sentence for the attack after pleading guilty in 2005 for the bombing and three others. ) But Eastwood believes "Richard Jewell" will draw attention to his true story. "Richard is long gone, " he says, "but this is really a tribute to him. ".

Compare the wretched perp to whom Dirty Harry says, Make my day! or "Do you feel lucky? with Richard Jewell. Agent Tom Shaw expresses the very attitudes Eastwood used to hold. (Jon Hamm's performance, his best since MAD MEN, is a welcome relief from the wooden officials he has played lately.) Eastwood deserves a lot of credit for coming such a long way from the 2012 empty chair episode. As a hotelier back in the 90s, handicapped access laws were the bane of his existence. I thought he made MILLION DOLLAR BABY as a hate letter to the wheel chair handicapped who had cost him a lot of money. Frankie Dunn did one of them a favor by offing her. I despised Eastwood for that, and lamented those who tried to find some sort of enlightened death-with-dignity message in it. He has redeemed himself in my eyes. I'll bet there's more to come. (I hope he will make his cheap shot at Kathy Scruggs right, for starters...

When he’s not in a combination of full-featured superheroes, Carol Danvers The Way Backs Nirvana as greedy anti-erotic as possible and proves to be very independent. This is even the key to his strength: if the super hero is so unique, we are told, it is thanks to his ability since The Way Back, despite being ridiculed masculine, to stand alone. This week, we dig into tools on that site that make it easy to save what you find. Hare: Hey, Ren, what are we talking about this week? LaForme: Let’s talk about history. Most people are aware of the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. For those who aren’t aware of it, the Wayback Machine is a search service that can show you old versions of a website. This is great because, as we know, sometimes people try to change things on their websites — which are essentially their online personas — and pretend like it didn’t happen. I’ve been using it for years and years, but this week I spoke to Gary Price, a researcher, librarian and founder of, who clued me in on some Wayback Machine features I never knew about. Hare: Oh excellent. Librarians are always full of good surprises. LaForme: I wish newsrooms still kept a bunch of them around. That’s a huge loss for us. Anyway, the first thing I learned about the Wayback Machine is that you can actually set it to capture a page manually. There’s a little search bar on the bottom right side of the Wayback Machine home page (notably, it’s not on the homepage) that lets you enter a URL and grab any page that’s currently online. It also gives you the option to download a PDF of that page as it’s captured. That’s something you can already do from most browsers, but it’s a great two-step process of capturing a site that you think needs to be archived for some purpose. Hare: I love shortcuts. How do you see journalists using this? LaForme: As a journalist, I’m particularly interested in holding those in power accountable. So I’m going to suggest grabbing archives of government websites, websites for big corporations, large donors to politicians and lobbyists and the like, and other organizations with power. But you can literally use it for anything. I mean, if you’re particularly proud of how your news organization’s front page is looking on a given day, grab an archive. People will see it when they go back to look at that URL in the Internet Archive. Hare: We’ve talked before about other ways to monitor changes on websites, but I want to spend a little more time on the second function you mentioned: archiving your own work. I wrote about this a few years ago, told myself I needed to go save some stories from when I lived in St. Louis, and now a lot of them are gone. When your work appears on the internet, it’s really easy for it to just disappear. I spoke to someone at RJI who’s working on this, and his advice was – make a PDF of your stories. This seems like a very easy way to set that up. LaForme: Absolutely. My online writing only goes back a little over a decade, but I’d say that half of it has already been swallowed by the shifting sands of the internet. I’m missing a ton of articles from high school and college, maybe for the better. My advice for that, since the Internet Archive focuses more on homepages, would be to use your browser to grab PDFs of your articles. On a Mac, you just hit the print button under “File” on any browser and use the PDF functionality within it. On a PC, I think it’s roughly similar, but it depends on the browser. It should take you just a few seconds for each article. I’d recommend keeping them in a folder that syncs to Google Drive or Dropbox just to make sure they’re safe. Hare: That’s embarrassingly simple. What else did you learn about? LaForme: Oh, this one makes it even easier. You know I love shortcuts and making workflows easier, so the second thing I learned is that there’s a bookmarklet that lets you archive a page without going to the Wayback Machine website. Since it’s a bookmarklet, it should work on all browsers. It’s a handy little tool. Hare: Yes, the less steps the better. This is why I’m horrible at cooking. (Gonna keep telling myself that. ) Have you seen any cool ways journalists have used WBM? LaForme: I think it’s most useful as a research tool, which is how most journalists are using it. So, if you’re using it the way I described, you’re basically giving the future version of you a high five and making it easier to conduct research in the future. I think I’m going to start caching the websites of major digital tool makers just so I can have something to look back on. Hare: Agreed, it’s a great way to peek into the past and see what the places and people we cover were like. Is there anything you’d change or add if you could? LaForme: I do wish it went deeper on websites, but can you imagine the storage that would take? It would be ridiculous. Also, it doesn’t have the ability to archive sites with anti-crawling code. One limitation I found the other day, when I accidentally deleted a friend’s entire front page layout, is that it doesn’t capture the CSS and images for every site. I had to use another site, called Cachedview, to grab all of that stuff to fix his site. Just another reminder that it’s important to employ a whole toolbox from time to time. Hare: Want to see something cool? LaForme: Obviously! Hare: circa 1997. “America is madder than ever at the media, according to a new study. ” Guess it’s been a rough two decades… LaForme: Wow! Look at that page. It’s… something. I guess some things change and others don’t change that much at all. Annette Bening and Josh O'Connor in 'Hope Gap' (Photo credit: Robert Viglasky) BFI London Film Festival William Nicholson’s Hope Gap, starring Annette Bening, Bill Nighy and Josh O’Connor had its U. K. premiere at the BFI London Film Festival. Hope Gap is William Nicholson’s second feature film. Known for his work as a screenwriter—being one of the writers for Ridley Scott’s  Gladiator  (2000)—and young adult novels, Nicholson had his big break with  Shadowland, a drama he made for the BBC, produced by David Thompson, which went on to win the BAFTA for the Best British Television Drama.  Shadowland was subsequently expanded by Nicholson into a play. It had such a great success on Broadway that the stage play was then adapted into a film directed by Richard Attenborough and starring Anthony Hopkins. The screenplay was eventually nominated for the best screenplay award at the Oscars. His first feature was a beautiful film called  Firelight, starring Sophie Marceau and Stephen Dellane, produced by Disney for $9. 5 million but which sadly did not do so well in the box office, probably because it was not so well marketed and distributed. Hope Gap is also derived from one of Nicholson’s stage plays, named  The Retreat from Moscow, which starred John Lithgow, Eileen Atkins and Ben Chaplin. In his filmic adaptation of his own play, Nicholson now directs Josh O’Connor, as the 28-year-old son Jamie, Annette Bening playing the mother Grace and Bill Nighy, who plays Edward the father. Autobiographical in nature, the film tells the story of the break-up of a thirty-year marriage, with the grown son finding himself stuck in the middle. The name of the original play refers to a moment in history during Napoleonic times, when soldiers were wounded, the carriage would deliberately drive over rotten ground in the hope that the wounded soldiers would fall off and thus be left behind. This is a story which the history teacher Edward repeats twice throughout  Hope Gap, serving as a metaphor as to how he views the state of his marriage with Grace. Hope Gap  is an intense film, portraying the crudeness of all three of its characters’ emotional states after the break-up. The film is at times too emotionally draining, lightened up with some funny moments. At the London Film Festival, where the film had its U. premiere this Friday, Nicholson discussed his career and the making of  Hope Gap. The film is based on his own life when his parents separated when he was 28. Like the character Jamie, he was being pulled between his parents, acting as the go-between. It felt for him like something was parting inside him, he said. Bill Nighy in 'Hope Gap' Nicholson explains how he changed some details of what happened in his life to make the story more cinematic. In one sequence at the beginning of the film, Edward tells Jamie that he plans to leave Grace that very day. Edward tells his son before he even reveals this to his own wife first. The suspense builds as Grace returns from church completely unaware of what is about to befall upon her. This is an element which Nicholson added to create a more emotional scene for the break-up. For Nicholson, his film is entirely dependent on the casting and the actors’ performance. Annette Bening’s performance is heart-breaking, showing the extent of her character’s despair at being left by her husband, feeling that her thirty years of marriage was just a lie. Although at one point, her character plunges a little too much into pathos. In one sequence, when Jamie comes to visit her, now alone in the big family home, he finds notes with the words “I love you” everywhere, in the fridge, amongst the cutlery. She tells him it is in the hope that upon seeing it her husband might decide to return to her. Bill Nighy’s character is withdrawn, the typical closed-off English man unable to articulate his emotions. Josh O’Connor’s performance communicates this state of being torn between two parents, unable to take sides. It is his scenes with Annette Bening that are most poignant. It is, however, unclear from whose perspective this story is being told. While the film has Jamie’s voice-over narrating some aspects from the son’s point of view, the film also shows Grace’s memories. This confusion is apparent from the very opening sequence, in which Jamie narrates his memory of the beach named Hope Gap. At the same time, the film shows Bening sitting on the beach looking at a young boy, suggesting that she is also remembering the time when her son was still a child. Hope Gap was an independent production with David Thompson as producer.  Hope Gap  is distributed by Curzon in the U. K.

Hope gap british film festival. Hope gap release. Hope gap movie. Hope gap (2019. 10 star rating for this cinema. I loved it the way of direction. Hope gap synopsis. September 6, 2019 7:55PM PT Annette Bening plays a woman blindsided by her husband's decision to leave after three decades in William Nicholson's low-key British drama. In “Hope Gap, ” Annette Bening plays a fiercely intelligent but not nearly independent enough English housewife who has been toiling away on a project for years. A lover of literature, and poetry in particular, Bening’s character Grace is compiling a book of verses for the full range of human experience. She intends to call it “I Have Been Here Before, ” and it will serve as a kind of life preserver for the dejected and depressed, reminding that no one is experiencing hardship for the first time, and that others more eloquent have managed to put those feelings to paper, signaling the way through for all who follow. Writer-director William Nicholson intends “Hope Gap” to work in much the same way. Slow and stuffy, like a filmed play, but also considerably more nuanced and mature than your typical relationship drama, it’s the story of a marriage that ended almost entirely out of the blue after the couple had been together for 29 years. Except the split wasn’t unexpected; it had been telegraphed in tiny ways almost every day for decades, until at last, it came to a head, and the husband (played by Bill Nighy) left, enlisting his son (Josh O’Connor) to help Grace cope with the separation. It’s a difficult prospect, inspired by the divorce of Nicholson’s own parents, and the filmmaker navigates it as sensitively as possible in order to be fair to both parties. In the process, his characters’ pain, and also their resilience, serve to let others know they’re not alone. That’s a noble aim, I suppose, but a rather dreary one for audiences seeking escapism, rather than a suicide hotline — which, incidentally, is where Grace volunteers to work, channeling her newfound cynicism into a kind of surly commiseration with those worse off than she feels. Woe is the soul who suggests “Hope Gap” as a date night. A film like this is better watched at home, curled up beneath the quilt with a pint of Cherry Garcia and a box of Kleenex. More than just the metaphorical discrepancy between Grace’s expectations and the reality of her marriage, “Hope Gap” is an actual place, a scenic stretch of cliffs in Sussex, facing south toward France. It’s a perfectly lovely spot to throw oneself into the ocean — and don’t think that hasn’t occurred to Grace, although she’s none too keen about scraping her face across the white chalk limestone on the way down. Grace and her husband have shared a house not far from the cliffs for decades, firmly entrenched in their routines. Grace never finishes her tea. Edward comes home, makes a cup for himself and retreats to his desk on the other side of the house. Edward is a history professor who spends his evenings “wikiing” (correcting articles on Wikipedia), which inspires one of Nicholson’s many fuddy-duddy riffs on how modern society seems out of sync with his obsolete characters: “If you make a history mistake in a Wiki article, you click undo and revert it. ” (There’s an even more groan-worthy one later, about paying with a chip-equipped credit card: “It’s all contactless now. ”) Nicholson is a gifted writer with an impressive list of credits that includes “Unbroken, ” “Gladiator” and “Les Misérables” (nearly all of which were co-written, which makes his contributions a bit tricky to parse, although more can be told from his C. S. Lewis biopic, “Shadowlands, ” based on his own play). He gives in a bit too easily to showing his wit, which is backed by a kind of earnestness that can be uncomfortable to watch — at least to the extent that “Hope Gap” is personal, a reflection of what his parents went through. Grace adopts a dog and names it after her husband. A detail like that would be corny if someone had made it up, but here it’s just heartbreaking. In the weeks to follow, whenever their grown son Jamie comes home, he finds her sitting on the hall stairs, as if waiting for Edward to return. Again, brutal. He doesn’t let his father off easy (Edward waits until he falls for someone else — the mother of one of his pupils — before finding the courage to leave), nor does he begrudge the man his newfound bliss. When Grace confronts the other woman, the stranger matter-of-factly replies, “I think I thought there were three unhappy people, and now there’s only one. ” The final dagger. What has Jamie lost, raised in a household without real love between his parents? They felt it once, maybe — although a story about how they met (on the wrong train) suggests their son is the only good thing to come of the marriage. And even he seems stunted in matters of romance and home-building, judging by his life back in London. How much of himself has Nicholson put into Jamie? “I never asked myself if she was happy or what she was thinking, ” the young man shares early on — although casting Bening, who seems to have looped her English-accented lines, as his mother seems like the highest compliment, and the actress is excellent in all her bedraggled desperation. In any case, it seems like Edward was equally uncurious about a wife he took for granted, a wife who gets on his nerves. “You go for him, ” Jamie reproaches her. “He should fight back, ” she says. “I want a reaction. ” What she wants is reassurance. Something has been not right about their marriage for ages, and Edward is too mild-mannered to address it. We’re used to seeing Nighy play salty, extroverted characters, garrulous and good-natured, but Edward is like an old ficus, bent over by years of badgering. The more Grace picks at him, the more he retreats … until such time that he has backed himself out of the marriage entirely. Grace wants them to stay together, but it’s clear that neither Jamie nor Nicholson shares that view. The marriage has run its course. It happens. And where do people turn when it does? Well, now they’ll have “Hope Gap” to cling to — proof that someone has been here before. The problem is not media coverage of impacts of climate change (which if anything is too light on balance, save for a few media outlets), but the lack of coverage of both potential and actual solutions that are being implemented on the greenhouse gas reduction front. I see a lot of comments from those who find global warming to be a serious problem but don't think anything can be done, and the article in the OP covers that. Media focus is usually on political failures, such as weakness of international agreements, the ineptitude of the U. S. Congress, or China's coal boom last decade. Those opposed to greenhouse gas reductions are quick to pounce on the hopelessness the media portrays. Often the argument made is "China's gonna keep burning coal so why should we do anything? " How many are aware that global emissions stalled last year while the economy grew? How many are aware that U. emissions are down over the last 7 years while real GDP is higher? How many are aware that coal usage has dropped dramatically in the U. S., as a result of improvements in energy efficiency, and an increase in both renewables and natural gas? or that cars are more efficient, using less oil? or that grass roots efforts at the state and regional levels to support low carbon sources of energy and shut down and prevent new coal plants from being built are working?

Hope present tense of verbs. Thank you William Nicholson for saving my Dinard Film Festival 2019. After viewing several so un-innovative "real stories" Red Joan, Fisherman's Friends) and "social realism" films (The Last Tree, VS - even though VS's world of rap battles was fascinating) I was getting really disappointed in British cinema.
Hope Gap made up for all that. It is beautifully acted (Annette Bening is extraordinary) deep and subtle, and does carry you away.

Very enjoyable drama about an couple whose marriage is strained and break up and the effects on each and their grown son. Some humour but a serious film. Performances are first class and as usual Annette Bening is outstanding. John O'Connor (Gods Own Country) also is a stand out.

The people most responsible for climate change should be the ones required to pay for it. Capitalists have pushed a culture of consumption while externalizing all the environmental costs. They are, quite simply, the ones most responsible and the profits gained due to cost externalization should be the resources used to fix the mess. This will never happen. There is no such thing as responsibility. It's just amusing that so few can point out the completely obvious.

Release Year - 1995; writer - Jeffrey Kluger; country - USA; Stars - Kevin Bacon; tomatometer - 7,8 / 10 Stars; duration - 140 Min. Last year, for the first time I met a few Flat-Earth believers. They are intelligent people but so ignorant; they do not believe men went to the moon and NASA simply fooled everyone staging those Apollo landings! I also learned that no matter how much we explain and show proof, they do not listen to reason. I never want to talk to these flat-earthers again. Apollo 8 was the greatest of all the Moon missions IMO. Incredible courage to venture out there first.

Apollo 13 > First Man. Thanks for putting all this work and making the fantastic result available to all. Is this in nassp or amso. Apollo Expeditions to the Moon: Chapter 13 Apollo Expeditions to the Moon CHAPTER 13. 1 "Houston, We've Had a Problem" By JAMES A. LOVELL In Mission Control the Gold Team, directed by Gerald Griffin (seated, back of head to camera), prepares to take over from Black Team (Glynn Lunney, seated, in profile) during a critical period. Seven men with elbows on console are Deke Slayton, Joe Kerwin (Black CapCom), Vance Brand (Gold CapCom), Phil Shaffer (Gold FIDO), John Llewellyn (Black RETRO), Charles Deiterich (Gold RETRO), and Lawrence Canin (Black GNC). Standing at right is Chester Lee, Mission Director from NASA's Washington headquarters, and broud back at right belogs to Rocco Petrone, Apollo Program Director. Apollo 13 had two other "ground" teams, the White and the Maroon. All devised heroic measures to save the mission from disaster. Since Apollo 13 many people have asked me, "Did you have suicide pills on board? " We didn't, and I never heard of such a thing in the eleven years I spent as an astronaut and NASA executive. I did, of course, occasionally think of the possibility that the spacecraft explosion might maroon us in an enormous orbit about the Earth - a sort of perpetual monument to the space program. But Jack Swigert, Fred Haise, and I never talked about that fate during our perilous flight. I guess we were too busy struggling for survival. Survive we did, but it was close. Our mission was a failure but I like to think it was a successful failure. Apollo 13, scheduled to be the third lunar landing, was launched at 1313 Houston time on Saturday, April 11, 1970; I had never felt more confident. On my three previous missions, I had already logged 572 hours in space, beginning with Gemini 7, when Frank Borman and I stayed up 14 days- a record not equaled until Skylab. Looking back, I realize I should have been alerted by several omens that occurred in the final stages of the Apollo 13 preparation. First, our command module pilot, Ken Mattingly, with whom Haise and I had trained for nearly two years, turned out to have no immunity to German measles (a minor disease the backup LM pilot, Charlie Duke, had inadvertently exposed us to). I argued to keep Ken, who was one of the most conscientious, hardest working of all the astronauts. In my argument to Dr. Paine, the NASA Administrator, I said, "Measles aren't that bad, and if Ken came down with them, it would be on the way home, which is a quiet part of the mission. From my experience as command module pilot on Apollo 8, I know Fred and I could bring the spacecraft home alone if we had to. " Besides, I said, Ken doesn't have the measles now, and he may never get them. (Five years later, he still hadn't. ) Dr. Paine said no, the risk was too great. So I said in that case we'll be happy to accept Jack Swigert, the backup CMP, a good man (as indeed he proved to be, though he had only two days of prime-crew training). The second omen came in ground tests before launch, which indicated the possibility of a poorly insulated supercritical helium tank in the LM's descent stage. So we modified the flight plan to enter the LM three hours early, in order to obtain an onboard readout of helium tank pressure. This proved to be lucky for us because it gave us a chance to shake down this odd-shaped spacecraft that was to hold our destiny in its spidery hands. It also meant the LM controllers were in Mission Control when they would be needed most. Then there was the No. 2 oxygen tank, serial number 10024X-TA0009. This tank had been installed in the service module of Apollo 10, but was removed for modification (and was damaged in the process of removal). I have to congratulate Tom Stafford, John Young, and Gene Cernan, the lucky dogs, for getting rid of it. This tank was fixed, tested at the factory, installed in our service module. and tested again during the Countdown Demonstration Test at the Kennedy Space Center beginning March 16, 1970. The tanks normally are emptied to about half full, and No. 1 behaved all right. But No. 2 dropped to only 92 percent of capacity. Gaseous oxygen at 80 psi was applied through the vent line to expel the liquid oxygen, but to no avail. An interim discrepancy report was written, and on March 27, two weeks before launch, detanking operations were resumed. No. 1 again emptied normally, but its idiot twin did not. After a conference with contractor and NASA personnel, the test director decided to "boil off" the remaining oxygen in No. 2 by using the electrical heater within the tank. The technique worked, but it took eight hours of 65-volt DC power from the ground-support equipment to dissipate the oxygen. With the wisdom of hindsight, I should have said, "Hold it. Wait a second. I'm riding on this spacecraft. Just go out and replace that tank. " But the truth is, I went along, and I must share the responsibility with many, many others for the $375 million failure of Apollo 13. On just about every spaceflight we have had some sort of failure, but in this case, it was an accumulation of human errors and technical anomalies that doomed Apollo 13. At five and a half minutes after liftoff, Swigert, Haise, and I felt a little vibration. Then the center engine of the S-II stage shut down two minutes early. This caused the remaining four engines to burn 34 seconds longer than planned, and the S-IVB third stage had to burn nine seconds longer to put us in orbit. No problem: the S-IVB had plenty of fuel. The first two days we ran into a couple of minor surprises, but generally Apollo 13 was looking like the smoothest flight of the program. At 46 hours 43 minutes Joe Kerwin, the CapCom on duty, said, "The spacecraft is in real good shape as far as we are concerned. We're bored to tears down here. " It was the last time anyone would mention boredom for a long time. At 55 hours 46 minutes, as we finished a 49-minute TV broadcast showing how comfortably we lived and worked in weightlessness, I pronounced the benediction: "This is the crew of Apollo 13 wishing everybody there a nice evening, and we're just about ready to close out our inspection of Aquarius (the LM) and get back for a pleasant evening in Odyssey (the CM). Good night. " On the tapes I sound mellow and benign, or some might say fat, dumb, and happy. A pleasant evening, indeed! Nine minutes later the roof fell in; rather, oxygen tank No. 2 blew up, causing No. 1 tank also to fail. We came to the slow conclusion that our normal supply of electricity, light, and water was lost, and we were about 200, 000 miles from Earth. We did not even have power to gimbal the engine so we could begin an immediate return to Earth. The message came in the form of a sharp bang and vibration. Jack Swigert saw a warning light that accompanied the bang, and said, "Houston, we've had a problem here. " I came on and told the ground that it was a main B bus undervolt. The time was 2108 hours on April 13. Next, the warning lights told us we had lost two of our three fuel cells, which were our prime source of electricity. Our first thoughts were ones of disappointment, since mission rules forbade a lunar landing with only one fuel cell. With warning lights blinking on, I checked our situation; the quantity and pressure gages for the two oxygen tanks gave me cause for concern. One tank appeared to be completely empty, and there were indications that the oxygen in the second tank was rapidly being depleted. Were these just instrument malfunctions? I was soon to find out. Thirteen minutes after the explosion, I happened to look out of the left-hand window, and saw the final evidence pointing toward potential catastrophe. "We are venting something out into the- into space, " I reported to Houston. Jack Lousma, the CapCom replied, "Roger, we copy you venting. " I said, "It's a gas of some sort. " It was a gas-oxygen-escaping at a high rate from our second, and last, oxygen tank. I am told that some amateur astronomers on top of a building in Houston could actually see the expanding sphere of gas around the spacecraft.

I remember this happening, I was 13 years old at the time.

YouTube. Good video.

Boy does this bring back memories, but we watched on CBS with Walter. Apollo 13, Cast Away, Sully, Cpt. Philips, Saving Private Ryan. It's simple, don't fly, travel to Europe or sail with Tom Hanks, and you should be fine. Is Al know that ok Al know doesn't matter what hears what doesn't hear is doing. The Carmelengo's speech is by leaps and bounds much better in the book than this poorly truncated version in the film. Can someone explain me how people and things could float, if not in space.

Damn Woody coming for Buzz's job ain't he

The Warner Brotgers watermark at the bottom right of the screen is a huge distraction. So when you purchase a movie is it yours to keep in your library to watch any time or is it a one time view thing, anyone know. Rented it and then it said not available for remote playback. I've always heard the name Apollo 13 and have always known that it was a space mission, but I have never actually heard the story. Until I watched this movie, I had no idea what had happened or what their mission was for. I never knew that they were trying to get to the moon again on that mission. Because I never knew the story, I was in suspense the whole movie, which I like while watching movies. Unlike in other history movies where I know what is going on, this one was interesting to watch because it was almost like history unfolding right in front of me which was cool.
This movie is about NASA's Apollo 13 mission to try to get to the moon after Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin had gotten there the first time. Three astronauts are sent on this mission: Jim Lovell, Fred Haise, and Jack Swigert. Some things on their mission go wrong and they and their team back on earth do all they can to get the three astronauts safely home.
Before I watched this movie, I did not know this part of history. I had no idea that there had been another mission to try and get to the moon after the Apollo 11 mission. This part of history is really interesting to me because we put men into space which is really awesome. Even though the technology back then is not near to what it is now, it still amazes me that they were able to put people and even just things into space. It blows my mind.
The director of this movie is Ron Howard. I have seen a couple of the movies that he has directed. I really liked them. There was only one I watched that he directed that I didn't like. The main actors in this movie are Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, and Bill Paxton who play the three astronauts. I have seen Tom Hanks and Kevin Bacon in a few movies, and I think they are great actors. They are always entertaining to watch and I like the type of movies they have been in (at least the ones I have seen. My favorite scene in this movie was when the astronauts were trying to stay on target with the earth, but had to keep the earth in view from their window, instead of using technology because most of the technology in their shuttle was down.
I really liked all the scenes with the astronauts in space, especially after everything went wrong. It was interesting to see how they acted and reacted in their desperate situation. It was also interesting to see how their team on earth worked together to get the astronauts safely home. This was a great movie and the space scenes were really realistic. The acting was really good too. I would watch this movie outside of school.

That double tap on the chalk board though. There are different information that is out there about us and Demons I am in a archangel vessel on earth. We have came now we have one of us as president he is an Archangel Warrior He is Arasio often fights by Michael side For many years Illuminati has had control of Earth and earth had been slaves now we took back the power. Our worm hole is in the Pleiades 12th dimension it leads to Heaven this is why others coming back said I went in this tunnel when they died. Our president is doing more than putting up a wall Mexico is where the Reptilian entrance is and firing he wants no Illuminati any where near him day after day. Armies built up because the Illuminati did not care they wanted us taken over. Christs return is very soon within years before the sun has its fit and magma goes all over the Earth. Star Seeds are Angels born as we are growing inside host mother our light from us purifies the body. We are here on our assigned mission here. The guide books were meant to teach. Now it is time for us to be known In heaven things are always changing. Angels go to many worlds raising the light for it is written meditate on the lord his very name is great power Jesus every demon dark workers will flee from. Not all things about heaven is written as there were Kings and Queens the angels they asked can we have King and Queen Jesus allowed it so Michael King me Sherry Queen. Mates were made so angels will not be lonely on Assignments there was too much abuse done by man that is and has been ruled out awhile ago. I am with my mate Michael a lot but he has other things to do as well looking over Israel and escorting when requested. It is possible and most of the time there be problems in angel vessels. My vessel has asthma but then 5 years ago I caught TB and did terrible damage to the trachea and left Bronchial the vessel has a straws worth of breathing and the damage is all the way to the outside there is no live tissue near by in the healing of replacing it. Sadly without money there would be no help money is seen as God here.

If you sit down to watch a Ron Howard movie you know exactly what's gonna show up in the screen: good and healthy Americans doing things that are so incredible and so heroic. Howard is a demagogue, he's rather predictable and knows just what the masses want. He always have a big budget, nice actors, and he knows how to shoot so at least his movies are entertaining. And so it is "Apollo XIII" the odyssey of three astronauts whose spaceship breaks down and leaves them stranded in the space.
At the end of "Apollo XIII" you'll be proud of being American, even if you're not! Welcome to the wonderful, wonderful life of Ronnie Howard.
*My rate: 6/10. I was in the 10th Grade in the Spring of 1970 and I remember the mission quite well despite not being able to watch the ongoings during school hours.

Oh yea im definitely gonna buy a spaceship to mars.

If you enjoy reading my Spoiler-Free reviews, please follow my blog. br> It's a brand new year, which means January gets to be the traditional "trash month" once again. In Portugal, it's actually one of the best months of the year since all of the Oscar-contender films are released (late) during these first few weeks. However, it still contains the formulaic action and/or horror movies. The Grudge, a reboot of a remake (because why not. is the most recent addition to the group of horror flicks that no one really understands why they were produced.
I was never a fan of the film series, so obviously, I wasn't expecting much from a reboot of a franchise that always looked like a lazily cheap way of filming a few jump scare sequences with no remarkable storytelling. Nicolas Pesce shows some hints of talent regarding his filmmaking skills with some efficiently suspenseful scenes, but the aspect to blame in this type of movies is always the same: screenplay. I can't remember the last film I saw that treated the audience like the dumbest people alive. It truly becomes disrespectful. It's like the producers thought that the target audience for a horror flick was 5-year-old children.
It reaches a point where the movie itself feels like it's being very intelligent in the way it shares plot information. It creates this tense build-up, filled with characters almost dropping a big twist, and then. it's something so evident since the first few minutes of the film. This process repeats throughout the entire runtime. "Here comes a big twist! Are you ready? Watch out! Here it goes. BAM! You didn't saw that coming, did you. br> Yes. We did. Everyone did. Even the theater supervisor who only shows up for a couple of seconds each half an hour was able to figure out everything that was happening. During the screening, I didn't know if I should laugh due to the ridiculously explicit plot points or if I should be frustrated for being treated like I was totally brainless. Everything about The Grudge feels painfully obvious. I try my best not to think too far ahead. I try not to predict what's going to occur or when a jump scare is going to happen. But this movie is so incredibly generic that I couldn't avoid knowing everything instinctively.
Story-wise or jump scares, it doesn't matter. Everything that Pesce tries to do, it's surrounded by such an aura of predictability that makes this horror film extremely dull. I mean, that's one of the worst feelings one can have while watching a horror movie, right? How can someone feel bored by a film constantly throwing jump scares and "massive" plot points every five minutes? Well, The Grudge was able to accomplish this miracle.
I don't know why The Grudge, as a film series, continues to exist. The first installment, which was itself a remake of the Japanese original, was a surprising box office success. Still, the majority of the audience and critics didn't really like the movie. The consequent theater releases were a disappointment. So, let's do a reboot of the remake, right? Nicolas Pesce seems to be a great filmmaker, he's able to easily generate tension and a dark environment, but such a huge misstep like this can hurt his career. The talented cast tries their best to bring this film to safe harbor, but the absurdly obvious, generic, formulaic, cliche story sunk the movie pretty hard. Its lack of surprising features, the extremely predictable jump scares, and the complete disregard for the audience, treating the viewers like the dumbest people ever, make The Grudge one of the worst horror films of the last few years.
Rating: D.

[If one says]: I shall sin and Yom HaKippurim will atone for me, Yom HaKippurim does not effect atonement. For transgressions between man and God Yom HaKippurim effects atonement, but for transgressions between man and his fellow Yom HaKippurim does not effect atonement, until he has pacified his fellow. This was expounded by Rabbi Elazar b. Azariah: “From all your sins before the Lord you shall be clean” ( Leviticus 16:30) for transgressions between man and God Yom HaKippurim effects atonement, but for transgressions between man and his fellow Yom HaKippurim does not effect atonement, until he has pacified his fellow.  Rabbi Akiva said: Happy are you, Israel! Who is it before whom you become pure? And who is it that purifies you? Your Father who is in heaven, as it is said: “And I will sprinkle clean water upon you and you shall be clean” ( Ezekiel 36:25).  And it further says: “O hope (mikveh) of Israel, O Lord” (Jeremiah 17:1–just as a mikveh purifies the unclean, so too does he Holy One, blessed be He, purify Israel. - Mishnah Yoma 8:9 10 Tishrei 5779 Who am I? Rosh Hashanah try to have a meal with family or friends, Yom Kippur fast, and the ten days between them (if you didn’t beforehand) be extra nice and extra Jewish, and try to apologise to everyone you have hurt or offended. This includes giving to charity, learning Torah, and being extra careful generally. The day after the 2 days of Rosh Hashanah (assuming you’re not in Israel), Wednesday 18 is also a dawn-to-dusk fast day, Tzom Gedaliyah. Try to bake a honey cake (or apple cake if you don’t eat honey). It’s nice to feel culturally connected to other Jews. Remember that Rosh Hashanah is judgment and Yom Kippur forgiveness. Followers, any more advice? I feel the loss of my grandmother the most at Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. I remember her always being there at shul with us, with the doily on her head. I don’t remember if she was more focused on the melody like my mother (her daughter) is or more focused on the words like my father (her son-in-law) is. I remember that she always had a tin of La Vie Pastillines hard candy in her pocketbook that she would sneak me during Yom Kippur. I still remember their taste and texture when I’m in shul attempting to deal with fasting.  It’s been twenty years since she passed away, and although time has tempered the pain of loss, it hasn’t lessened the immediacy of her memory. L'shanah tovah u'metukah! Teshuvah: To all I’ve wronged (intentionally or unintentionally), I apologize, ask for forgiveness, and will strive to do and be better in the coming year. To all who have wronged me (intentionally or unintentionally), I forgive and will not hold on to my anger and irritation. May the new year be good and sweet! anonymous I know this is a week early, but what are you planning to do in Yom Kippur? I’m spending with my community (one of the many Sephardi ones) in Montréal, Canada. I got my seats sorted out a month before Rosh Hashana. Both the dinner before as well as break the fast will be at my own home — unless someone invites me before that, then plans could change. If we are meant to "afflict ourselves" ( Vayikra 23:28) on Yom Kippur then why is it that "Israel had no holidays as joyous as … Yom Kippur" ( Mishna Ta'anit 4:8)? I’m so confused?  Me weeks before Rosh Hashanah: you’ll definitely get all that cooking done beforehand and freeze it and make fresh soup the day of. Go you! Me this week: no problem, you got this, just set up your menu for Yom Tov and you’re all set! Use evenings and mornings to start prepping! Me on Erev Shabbos: it’s cool, you don’t need to cook anything for Shabbos, you can just snack. And it’s fine you haven’t even begun planning for Yom Tov, you have a tiny family. Leave all that cooking for Rosh Hashanah for Motzei Shabbos. In fact, let’s not even go grocery shopping, you can do it later. Me right now, Motzei Shabbos: WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WHAT WERE YOU THINKING YOU HAVE NO PLAN BESIDES SOUP My Yamim Noraim outfit a string of pearls my grandma gave me for my bat mitzvah,  External image External image and white lace pumps, unless the back piece turns out to be suede like I think it is, in which case I give up Show me yours please I need inspiration (bc I have one outfit for Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur)/to look at pretty outfits thank you During Yamim Noraim HaSatan: Here is a list with everything wrong Israel has done this year. G-d: My first Yom Kippur was a really interesting experience. I successfully fasted the whole time, but throughout the day I wasn’t really sure that it was adding much to my repentance. Mostly I just ended up feeling achey and fuzzy, not necessarily opened up to greater vulnerability. What struck me, though, was that on the next day, when my glucose levels were back to normal, I really did feel this sense of having bowed all the way down before Hakadosh Baruch Hu to ask for forgiveness. The recovery felt like a rebirth, and a renewal of faith and vows to G-d. I was also simply struggling with the very basic idea of repenting for my own sins. Repentance has been drilled into me as such a Christian concept, that it’s hard to put it into a different context and frame of mind. Even though I had been working throughout Elul (albeit, sporadically) to come to terms with my own failings from the past year, I wasn’t sure how much progress I’d really made, spiritually. I tend to be someone who tries to make amends quickly and fully if something has happened between me and another person, particularly as I’ve grown older. With that said, I know I still fail myself, others, and Hashem on a regular basis, in large and small ways, and so I hope that all that has been forgiven. What I found really moved me, though, was the whole idea and act of public, communal confession. We were all there, beating our chests, tapping our hearts open for one another, holding each other up, and each of us sharing in the blame for this long list of sins. We are truly responsible for one another, both in misdeeds and in healing. I found that, in particular, to be immensely powerful. I will be interested to see what next year’s Yom Kippur will feel like, since this is my first year for celebrating all these holidays and so there is always a sense of stepping into the unknown. For now, I will strive to keep the lessons I learned this Yom Kippur with me as I move forward. Play The gate between heaven and earth is always creaking open. The Book of Life and the Book of Death are open every day, and our name is written in one or the other of them at every moment, and then erased and written again the moment after that. We are constantly becoming, continuously redefining ourselves. This doesn’t just happen on Rosh Hashanah. And every day of our life is fraught with meaning and dread, not just the Ten Days of Teshuvah. We always live at an unbearable nexus. Everything we do, every prayer we utter, every intention we form, every act of compassion we preform, always ripples out from the center of our being to the end of time. We always stand at the end of a long chain of consequences as well, and we are always struggling to control things that won’t submit to our control, personal outcomes that were set in motion long ago. And there is always a trial going on, not just the heavenly court that convenes at Kol Nidre on the eve of Yom Kippur. We are called to judgement at every moment. Our response to every moment is a judgement on us, one that is continuously unfolding, and subject to continuous modification. And every moment is a rehearsal for our death. From the day we are born we are engaged in the process of dying, not only because the larger arc of our life is moving in that direction, but because we experience death moment by moment. We die to the world every time we breathe out, and every time we breathe in, every time our breath returns to us of its own accord, we are reborn, and the world rises up into being again. And our heart is always breaking, and the gate is always clanging shut. It is always the last minute. We are always desperate, not just at Neilah, the final moments of Yom Kippur. And the houses we live in never afford us real security. Their walls and roofs are never complete - they never really keep us from the world or from harm, and it is only when we realize this that we are truly home. And the task of finding an authentic source of security falls to us all the time, not just on Sukkot, when we leave our houses and go and sit in an imaginary house with the wind in our hair and the stars shining down on the top of our head. This is Real and You Are Completely Unprepared: The Days of Awe as a Journey of Transformation by Alan Lew Play Today I wore a kippah for the first time (we have choir kippot and my section pal handed me her spare one) and I survived and had a decent time having lunch with mostly strangers and I have Unetaneh Tokef on loop in my head which is…a bit ominous. שנה טובה ומתוקה! Thank God itd not a leader from central sai angekua ndani. I wander what people call incitement. Ngilu is right. Tusipochunga we will not have a country called Kenya. Our leaders have forgotten the importance of protecting the country and they have concentrated on 2022 politics. This country is being taken by our neighbours.

I wonder what would happen if those of us conservatives on the right follow the advice of Cory Booker and others and got in some congress people's faces. I have't tried out your game but the trailer is really cool. לפי דעתי הסרט לא משקף בכלל את מה שקרה במציאות ובוחר להציג דווקא את יגאל בתור הרע בסיפור.

The only choice you'll have to make, is us. Right, nothing creepy or foreshadowing about that line at all. Richie's vocals got awesome again. Can't tell if this is a preview or a really good commercial. I don't know what you're selling sir but where can I place an order. The gig is up. The true people of Yah are waking up. Sounds like CTOS in watch dogs. This is the career changing role Blake Lively needed. Looks excellent. Tomato buseta what is song name. Share this every 45 minutes and good health will come. This film is a re-creation of the life of Yigal Amir, the assassin of Yitzhak Rabin, from the time of the announcement of the 1st Oslo peace accord, to the actual deed. While Yigal was already a nationalist (he starts by being arrested at an anti-Oslo rally) various forces encouraged or abetted him towards assassination.
There is his mother, encouraging him to greatness, as per his name. There are rabbis who proclaim that Jewish law should supercede secular law, and also that Rabin is a "Persuer" and an "Informer" permitting him to be killed. There is a Likud / Bibi rally, where calls to kill Rabin go unchecked. There are girlfriends / potential brides, who just distance themselves from him but not report his thoughts to authorities. About the only person who comes off well is his father, who said that, if Rabin should be struck down, it should be by the hand of God and not of man.
I was at the world premiere (see: trivia) where the director said the film project was started 5 years ago, and it is just coincidental that it is coming out as populists hold hate-filled rallies.

Pelosi & Schiff need to read the Bible for all the LIES they are spreading to U.S People. The Hamas are definitely a group of terrorists. Congratulations on opening at Ziff👏👏👏👏.
